ANA Takes “FLYING HONU” to Okinawa

In commemoration of the recent addition of Japan’s Amami-Oshima Island, Tokunoshima Island, northern part of Okinawa Island, and Iriomote Island to the UNESCO’s World Natural Heritage list, All Nippon Airways (ANA) conducted a scenic flight to and from Naha Airport in Okinawa prefecture using its Airbus A380 “FLYING HONU”, its special livery Hawaiian for sea turtle aircraft on September 25.

253 passengers boarded the FLYING HONU to take for in-flight “tour” over Okinoerabujima, Tokunoshima, Amami Oshima, Tokunoshima, Okinoerabujima, and Kumejima which are part of the World Heritage site areas.

On board, ANA served domestic premium class meals and drinks in First Class and Business Class, including a welcome drink for First Class customers. In Premium Economy and Economy Class, the airline offered its ANA FINDELISH meal menu with a selection of drinks in Premium class.  All passengers received a “HONU backpack”, boarding certificate, amenity kit, and eco bag as a souvenir of the special charter flight event.
