Korean Air to Trial IATA Travel Pass
Korean Air has announced on March 18 that it will join the growing number of airlines trialling the IATA Travel pass, a mobile application designed to verify passengers’ COVID-19 test results and vaccination status.
The trial is planned for Korean Air’s Seoul-Incheon – Los Angeles KE011 flight in May following an internal test in April. Passengers will need to install the Travel Pass mobile app on their smartphone. They will then be able to take a COVID-19 antigen test at a testing centre located at Incheon Airport, and receive their test results via the Travel Pass mobile app within one hour.
“We believe the digital travel pass will improve customer experience for passengers as they can share health information in a convenient and secure manner, and save processing time at the airports,” said Korean Air’s Chief Customer Service Officer, Seungbum Lee. “Korean Air will continue its efforts to provide a safe and seamless travel experience through initiatives such as the travel pass.”
